The initial version of this article was taken from the New South Wales Women's Vigoro Association (Australia) web site and was published here with their permission.
Vigoro appears to be somewhat similar to outdoor cricket, incorporating some of the pace of baseball. It is played on a cricket pitch, slightly shorter in length, the balls are much lighter, and the bat has a totally different shape with a long handle resembling the shape of a paddle.
There are two teams of twelve players which will bat and field two innings each (except in the event that a team wins with an innings in hand). The aim of the game is to score more runs than the opposition team.
