Robert "Bob" Essensa (born January 14, 1965, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. Essensa was selected in the fourth round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft, 71st overall, by the Winnipeg Jets. Essensa went on to a 15-year professional career that saw him play for the Jets, Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres. However, he never won the Stanley Cup.
Currently, he is the goaltending coach for the Boston Bruins.
